Jonathan Taubes

Jonathan Taubes is a New York City-based community organizer and labor strategist who works at the intersections of Jewish life, organized labor, and movements for democracy. At the Jewish Labor Committee, Jonathan leads strategic programs, helping build next-generation infrastructure and deepen ties between Jewish communities and unions. In 2025, he served on the founding leadership team of the Beacon, a multifaith, spiritually rooted activist project led by Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum and based at Union Theological Seminary. He also served as Youth Outreach Co-Chair for the Hatikvah slate in the World Zionist Congress elections.

Previously, Jonathan served as Brooklyn Program Manager at Repair the World, where he led a Service Corps for young adults. During his time there, he helped spearhead the successful campaign to organize the Repair the World Workers Union, an affiliate of the Washington-Baltimore News Guild. Before that, he spent four years at the Workers Circle, where he co-founded the Workers Circle College Network and led Jewish labor walking tours of the Lower East Side. He has been active as a lay leader with New Israel Fund’s NewGen community and has published in PPI’s journal, Israel Horizons. Jonathan holds a B.A. in Judaic Studies from Brooklyn College, where his senior thesis explored Jewish women’s labor organizing and coalition-building in early twentieth-century New York.
