Seeing ‘Selma’ in Tel Aviv; an Israeli Parallel

Last week, I saw “Selma”, the first film to try to depict the struggle for civil rights led by Martin Luther King, and I was moved to write the following piece. As I note, I see clear parallels between the attempt by right wing white supremacists in the U.S. to prevent blacks from voting, and the attempt by right-wing Jewish supremacists in Israel to prevent the Israeli Arab citizens from voting.  Here’s the link to my piece in the Times of Israel.
