Who are you?
My name is Darius Sivin, and I am an educational health and safety professional and a longtime peace activist. For the past 25 years, I have been a union member with the United Auto Workers, and I have spent much of my life involved in Middle East peace work. I previously chaired the National Havurah Committee and participated in early conferences organized by Chicon magazine, including a 1991 conference in Israel in support of peace. I also helped found Brit Tzedek v’Shalom and was arrested alongside Cornel West during a protest against the Bush administration’s support for West Bank settlements.
Why do you give to PPI?
I give to PPI because I believe in the importance of this work and see it as a continuation of the peacebuilding and activism I have been committed to throughout my life. Supporting PPI is a way to contribute to a cause that has long been close to my heart.
What PPI programs do you most enjoy?
I especially enjoy PPI’s programming in collaboration with other organizations in the broader peacebuilding ecosystem. As a longtime supporter of Meretz USA and the World Zionist Congress, I value PPI’s work connecting people and organizations committed to a more peaceful and progressive future for Israel.
