About the initiative: ‘Intern in Israel’ was created as part of our ongoing effort to strengthen the ties between Americans and Israelis.  Eligible internships must be between one-month and one-year long.  We will provide up to 1,200 dollars in grant money to students ages 18-35 who plan to intern or volunteer with an Israeli organization dedicated to peace, democracy, social justice, sustainability, human and civil rights and equality.

If you are seeking an Israel travel grant:

Grantees are expected to arrange their own internships, travel and living arrangements in Israel.
In return for the grant, Partners for Progressive Israel will ask the intern/grantee to write about his/her internship experience for a Partners publication and to make a public appearance on behalf of the Internship in Israel Initiative and Israel’s progressive agenda.

Application process:

Applicants planning to intern in Israel should submit their applications no less than 3 months before their departure date.

Applicants should submit all application materials via email to info@partners4israel.org. The subject line of the email should be “Intern in Israel” followed by your first and last name. The email should include:

  • Completed application form. The application form can be found at the top of this webpage.
  • Cover letter, laying out the internship plan and explaining the applicant’s motivation for pursuing the internship.
  • Applicant’s resume.

Applicants must also send a letter of recommendation from a source who can speak to the applicant’s connection to Israel and/or progressive issues.  The applicant must also send a letter of confirmation of the internship plan from the organization at which the intern will be working. Applicants will be interviewed in the final stage of the process.

All application materials should be emailed to info@partners4israel.org, or sent via postal mail to:

Partners for Progressive Israel
114 West 26th St., Suite #1002
New York, NY, 10001

Grant amounts will be determined by Partners for Progressive Israel based on internship length, degree of the internship’s compatibility with the Partners for Progressive Israel vision and mission, and other factors.
